WHAT IS SHIATSU AND HOW IS IT UNIQUE?

Shiatsu unlike massage is performed on a mat with the client fully clothed.  There are energetic pathways known as meridians in the body.  Shiatsu works on balancing these energetic pathways to return the body back to its natural healing process.  In order to balance the meridians the therapist uses  thumbs, palms and knees to release stagnant energy.  Shiatsu is a physical treatment with assisted stretches along with energetic balancing.  The pressure applied during treatment can be as deep or light as the client requires. There are many people who come for treatment thinking that shiatsu is going to hurt them but in fact it can be very gentle and relaxing.  Shiatsu is unique as it works the physical and energetic body.

Illness in the body is seen as a disharmony in the balance of your system.  This results from an inability to adapt adequately to challenges both internally and externally.  Shiatsu treatments are beneficial for a variety of conditions and age groups.  Regular treatments are recommended to improve and maintain health.
